Visitation, Service for Theresa Frances Raleigh Moriarty

Theresa Frances Raleigh Moriarty of Pearl River died on July 27, 2016. She was 59 years old. Mrs. Moriarty worked as an Area Supervisor for Kohls in Nanuet. She worked there since 2001.

Theresa was born February 21, 1957 in Brooklyn to Alfred and Ann Raleigh. She graduated from Brooklyn College in 1978. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. On October 17, 1981, she married Brian Moriarty at St. Andrews Church in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. They moved to Pearl River in 1988.

She was a former SEPTA co-president, an organization dedicated to children with special needs.

Mrs. Moriarty will be remembered for her loving nature, her patience, and her fortitude. She was the rock of her family. She will best be remembered as a wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Brian, and her four children Brianne, Sean, Colleen, and Kerry. She is also survived by her five siblings: Catherine of Brooklyn, Al of West Hampton, Virginia, Celine of Palm Coast, Florida, Margaret of Brooklyn, and Michael of Washingtonville. Family members who died earlier include her parents and her godson, Thomas.

Calling hours are Sunday 3-5 and 7-9 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, New York 10965. The funeral is Monday at 10 am at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church in Pearl River. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952.
