
George N. Lilly, 75, of Blauvelt, NY, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 6, 2014. He was born in the Bronx, NY.
George served in the United States Air Force. He dreamed of becoming a pilot and was a vital member of the Strategic Air Command. After his discharge he continued his love of military aircraft. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He loved coaching baseball and coached for many years.
George’s greatest joy was dancing with his lovely wife, Sheila (nee O’Leary) of over 50 years.

Beloved father of Timmy and his wife Theresa, of Glen Spey, NY; Lucy and her husband Paul of Cresskill, NJ; and Jeanne and her husband Major Casey Elam of Yuma, AZ.
He was a devoted Grandfather to Michael and Nicole Eng, Christopher and Brian Lilly and Lincoln Elam.
Dear brother to the late Lucille “Cookie” Lent. Sister-in-Law Marion O’Leary . “Georgie” was uncle to Maria Lent, Ellen Palaia and Robert O’Leary, and many cousins and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. Nyack, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Catharines RC Church, Blauvelt, NY. Burial to follow at the Rockland County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers Association at Alz.org.
