Back From LI, Giarrizzo To Take Helm Of Mount Pleasant Schools

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — The Mount Pleasant Board of Education has hired Dr. Peter Giarrizzo to replace Superindentent Dr. Kurtis Kotes, who is headed to the Goshen school district.

Giarrizzo is a well-known school administrator in Westchester County. He's been an administrator in Elmsford and Pelham, becoming superintendent in Pelham before running the North Shore district on Long Island, and going back farther he was Mount Pleasant's director of special education and curriculum from 2004-07, the Examiner News reported.

He starts July 1.
