Briarcliff’s Tax Cap-Compliant Budget Centers Around Students
The budget continues to support learning opportunities for students at all grade levels that keep student engagement at the core.

From Syntax: The Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District will present a budget to the public on Tuesday, May 16 that continues to support necessary and unique learning opportunities for students at all grade levels that keep student engagement at the core.
The board of education has adopted a budget of $51,466,151, which represents an increase of 1.61 percent and is below the New York State-mandated tax levy limit. Staying below this cap means that a simple majority, 50 percent plus one, is required for the budget to pass.
“This budget preserves and enhances our core academic programs at all levels,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Kaishian. “In addition, it better provides for students’ safety and infrastructure management, contains safeguards for classroom enrollment and enhances student access to science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. This budget also fully funds the district’s academic, athletic, art, music and co-curricular programs.”
