Briarcliff sophomore Caroline Pennacchio qualified at Sectionals to compete in the New York State cross country meet this coming weekend, according to Pleasantville Cross Country Coach Tom Patterson.
Briarcliff Cross Country Coach Sean Ryan noted it's the second year in a row Pennacchio has qualified for the state meet.
"Caroline came up with her best performance of the season and placed 7th in the very competitive Class C girls race to earn a spot on the Section 1 team," Patterson said in an email to Patch.
