Celebrating Dad!

Place preorders from our vendors Tues, 7:00pm – Thurs, 7:00pm. Then walk up Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm, to gather your preorders shop further

Pleasantville Farmers Market farmers and food artisans have a lot to offer those celebrating Dad this weekend. Starting this Saturday producers are permitted to offer samples again - so walk around with Dad to try cheeses, wines, and other items. Collect treats such as fresh strawberries, Whitecliff Vineyards wines or Spirits Lab's craft cocktails, items for a charcuterie and cheese board, great meats and vegetables for the grill (especially garlic scapes!) and a terrific dessert. Then head home for a delicious Father's Day weekend of special meals!

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Recent changes in NYS COVID-19 regulations have enabled us to modify our health & safety protocols for customers at the Pleasantville Farmers Market -- balancing changes in mask use with a marketplace that remains the same in terms of distancing, layout and the option to wear a mask as an extra precaution if preferred. Our updated policies are:

  • Vaccinated shoppers may visit the Market without wearing a mask
  • Unvaccinated shoppers are requested to still wear a mask covering nose and mouth while shopping
  • The Market is collecting documentation of vaccinations for vaccinated vendors and Market volunteers who wish to be in the marketplace without a mask
  • NYS regulations still require markets to maintain all distancing measures at this time

The Market will continue to re-evaluate its health & safety protocols as NYS updates their rules and regulations for farmers markets.

Last Saturday the Market was again a walk up vaccination site. We thank all of you for helping to get the word out, and we appreciate the efforts of our Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health and their partner Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps for helping nearly 100 individuals get vaccinated in May and June!

PFM MARKET MOMENTS:
GARLIC SCAPES!

Click here to view our latest PFM Market Moments video with registered dietitian and Foodchester board member Marina Stopler - she's talking about delicious and versatile garlic scapes, available at the Market throughout June.

At this time of the year our farms harvest off scapes from garlic plants to focus energy and flavor into the bulbs we buy in the fall. Scapes are the stem and flowering part of the plant and when harvested young they have a soft, herbal, garlicky flavor. Use them on the grill, to make pesto, create infused butter, blend into hummus, use in soups and more. Garlic scapes are available this week from Gajeski Produce, Little Seed Gardens, Maple View Farm and Mead Orchards (most offer them for preorder in PFM-O tonight).

Our PFM Market Moments video series shares nutritional, cooking and kitchen organization tips, vendor interviews and news about your producers, and we'll also offer COVID updates and other Market insights too. Please subscribe to the Market’s YouTube channel and share your comments in response to our videos -- we love hearing from you!
