Daytime Work To Close Lanes On The Sprain

Anticipate delays and seek alternate routes.

Starting Monday, daytime single and double lane closures are expected on the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway between the Interstate 287 interchange and the Bronx River Parkway. The work will go through Sept. 18, weather permitting.

Construction activities will be going on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Anticipate delays and seek alternate routes where possible.

Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices, including signs.

This year’s work zone safety campaign, “Flaggers have families too,” is designed to remind motorists that flagging personnel are not attempting to disrupt traffic – they are simply doing their jobs and want to get home safely at the end of each work day.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
