Spooktakular Halloween Costume Swap

Where/When: Memorial Plaza gazebo in Pleasantville on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why go: After last year's successful swap, PleasantvilleRecycles is bringing back another Halloween Costume Swap at Memorial Plaza Saturday. Bring your unwanted, gently-used costumes and choose one from the wide selection available. All leftover costumes will be donated to Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla.

Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast

Where/When: The Presbyterian Church of Pleasantville on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why go: Local rotarians will be putting on aprons and mixing pancake batter again this year during the annual fundraiser that supports the Community Scholarship Fund of Pleasantville.
Pricing: $8 adults; $5 seniors and students

Fall Into Scouting

Where/When: Girl Scout Camp Andree Clark (across from Edith Macy Conference Center) on Friday, Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why go: Briarcliff Manor and Pocantico Girl Scouts will be leading an evening of s'mores, songs and swaps on Friday. On Saturday, take part in activities like baking monkey bread in a box oven, making a sit-upon, a scavenger hunt and more. Snacks, water and lunch will be provided. "A Different Kind of Streetwalker"

Where/When: Briarcliff Manor Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m.
Why go: Ossining resident Dede Emerson will be sharing a slideshow of her more than 2,000 photos taken while walking the streets of Manhattan (they date back to April 24, 2005). Copies of her book, A Different Kind of Streetwalker: Manhattan by Foot, One Block at a Time, will be available for purchase and signing.

Yom Kippur Play Reading

Where/When: Pleasantville Community Synagogue on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m.
Why go: PCS is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Yom Kippur war with a reading of Meri Wallace's play Yom Kippur. Following the reading, there will be a Q&A session with the director. Refreshments will be served. RSVP by calling 914-232-9654.

Stone Barns' Harvest Fest

Where/When: Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why go: Pocantico Hills Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture is celebrating the season with a fundraiser that will include live music, a farmers' market, hayrides, square dancing and farm and food demonstrations. Lutheran Church's First Concert of the Season

Where/When: Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m.
Why go: Pleasantville's Emanual Evangelical Lutheran Church is beginning its concert season with a recital by interntional organist Rick Erickson.

Maria Regina High School Country Fair

Where/When: Maria Regina High School (500 West Hartsdale Ave. Hartsdale) on Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 5 from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 6 p.m.
Why go: The school's first annual fair will include family friendly activities like rides, games, pumpkin painting, food vendors and more.
