
MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — A head-on crash Sunday morning on Route 9 killed one person, News 12 reports.
Mount Pleasant police said a car and SUV collided head-on near Sleepy Hollow Road just before 8 a.m., the news station reported. Archville Fire Chief Peter West told News 12 that one other person was injured and taken to the hospital; a third person involved in the collision refused medical attention.

Sleepy Hollow residents said a section of Route 9 was closed off near the Guadulajara restaurant into Sunday afternoon. The clean-up and investigation took until close to 2 p.m.
As well as Archville, the Briarcliff Manor and Hawthorne fire department responded. Medical personnel came from Briarcliff, Ossining and Pleasantville; police assisting Mount Pleasant were from Ossining and Briarcliff, according to Kempter's Fire Wire.
