Free Kids Open House At Jacob Burns Film Center

The Jacob Burns Film Center will host a Free Kids Open House as it puts young local filmmakers behind the lens on January 20.

From the Jacob Burns Film Center: Calling All Up and Coming Spielbergs! Jacob Burns Film Center is hosting a Free Kids Open House putting young local filmmakers behind the lens - kids, camera, action!

When: Saturday, January 20 from 10:30am—1:00pm — 364 Manville Rd, Pleasantville, NY

Who: Local youth, families and students ages 3– 13 (currently enrolled in programs and some visiting for the first time); Edie Demas, Executive Director, JBFC; Emily Ohara, Kids Curator & Creative Producer, Program and Curriculum Developer, JBFC

What: Calling all up and coming Spielbergs! The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) is hosting a free open house. Kids can join current students and participate in hands-on activities and a family-friendly shorts program featuring recent student work and film festival favorites. Families will enjoy watching, animating, and coloring together and celebrating young aspiring filmmakers. Some of the activities will include a 3D modeling station, a stop motion animation station, and drawing station which will all take place upstairs in the Jane Peck Gallery. Media and visitors can also stop by the state-of-the-art Media Arts Lab (down the street from the Theater), where JBFC education programs are held, for free tours. No tickets or registration are required for this free event.
