Jacob Burns Film Center Announces Reopening Plans
Meanwhile, they present Projecting Light Through Darkness, an artistic installation bringing brightness after a dark time.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — Marking a post-pandemic move toward new life, the Jacob Burns Film Center will reopen April 30.
"As you can imagine, we are very excited to share that we will be opening soon," Director of Marketing & Communications Denise Treco told Patch.
In celebration, they present Projecting Light Through Darkness, which dramatically brightens the JBFC Theater. This vibrant installation is paired with a "stunning and permanent" upgrade to the marquee. It is made possible by a generous gift from Suzanne and Robert Harwood.

"Visit Pleasantville to experience the lights, best seen after darkness, and while you are in town, please support a local business or restaurant," center officials said.

During this period when the coronavirus enforced inaction, there have been some changes made.
The center installed Bi-Polar Ionization air purification units throughout the theater and Media Arts Lab. Click to learn about the facility improvements, safety measures, and procedures, including social distancing, assigned seating, and more.
"It has been a long and difficult year, but thanks to the strength and support of the JBFC community, we are ready and prepared to embrace this exciting moment," officials said.
Theater hours and screening schedule will be announced before the reopening.
Even afterward, the Burns will continue to offer film programs through its Virtual Marquee, so that members and guests will be able to experience the programming, whether in-person or from the comfort of home.
