Lane Closures on the Saw Mill Parkway Tuesday-Friday

Commuters will need to be awake and alert to cope with this, coupled with the traffic pattern change that will happen afterward.

Beginning Aug. 2, through Aug. 5, lane closures and full closures with a posted detour are expected to occur on the Saw Mill River Parkway, between Exit 27 (Marble Avenue) and Exit 30 (Grant Street), while crews perform construction activities.

Right afterward, a new temporary traffic pattern is expected to go into effect on the parkway.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings the left lanes on both the northbound and southbound sides of the parkway, between Exit 27 and Exit 30, will close at 8 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. all lanes between Exit 27 and Exit 30 will close. The southbound lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. the following morning. The northbound lanes will reopen at 7 a.m. the following morning.

Then the traffic pattern change will begin at midnight on Aug. 6. State transportation officials anticipate it will last through Aug. 26.

The New York State Department of Transportation is reconstructing two bridges on the parkway in Pleasantville. The structures are located under historic arch bridges at Bedford Road and Pleasantville Road and over the Saw Mill River. The historic bridges are not part of the project, officials said.
