PLEASANTVILLE, NY — In the heart of Pleasantville's downtown, Wheeler Avenue will be repaved in two stages this week and next.

On Wednesday night, crews will mill the one-way street between Manville and Bedford roads to remove the existing layer of asphalt. To minimize disruption, the work will begin at 9 p.m., finishing around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

At that point, public works crews will paint stripes to provide temporary parking spaces. Those spaces will be available Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Then, the actual repaving work will start at about 1 a.m. Monday. It should be completed by 6 a.m.

During both of these projects, vehicle traffic will be restricted, and no parking will be allowed on Wheeler. Pedestrian access is not affected — so folks headed to Wheeler can park nearby and walk to their destination.
