Matching Gift Helps SPCA Of Westchester With New Shelter Project
The organization seeks help raising money to replace the crumbling shelter and old kennels.

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — A supporter of the SPCA of Westchester has agreed to match donations made in February (up to $50,000) to the animal shelter's campaign to fund a brand-new animal care campus. The SPCA revealed its plan late last year.
The current shelter, which hasn’t been updated since the 1960s, is cracked and crumbling.

Many of the dog kennels are not fully protected from the elements.

Indoor dog habitats as well as the outdoor shelters and "luxury 4-story condos" for kittens and cats top the list of projects to upgrade the old, cramped facilities in Briarcliff Manor.
The new facilities will also include a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, a large indoor space to serve as a training and enrichment center for dogs and a classroom for humane education presentations to local school children, youth groups and the popular Camp Critter day camp.
