Mount Pleasant Teen Dies In Crash Monday

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — Mount Pleasant resident Sarah Lynch died Monday after a single-car crash on Kensico Road in Thornwood, The Journal News reported.

She was a senior at Westlake High School, which is closed for winter break but where officials are offering counseling to students and staff. "Sarah was a bright star in the class of 2021, a member of the track team, a familiar face on the 'W,' our monthly broadcasting class program, and a good friend to many in our school and her class" Kurtis Kotes, superintendent of the Mount Pleasant school district, said in a letter to the community that he shared with TJN.

Police said she apparently lost control and crashed into a utility pole near Linda Avenue at about 12:30 p.m., the paper reported.
