Preorder in PFM-O Tuesday, 7pm thru Thursday, 7pm

The Market's open Saturday, 8:30am - 1:00pm

NEW & RETURNING

It's great shopping the Pleasantville Farmers Market each spring and seeing the return of seasonal vendors such as Orwasher's Bakery, Wright's Farm, Little Seed Gardens, Simply Planted Greenhouses, SalleAnder and Buddhapesto. It's equally exciting to see new producers with products to explore like two visiting this Saturday -- Wildcraft Farms (a Hudson Valley grain farm growing and milling heirloom varieties) and Melissa's Health Hub (juices, shakes, health shots and dehydrated veggie chips). And this is not to forget that a parade of returning, favorite, seasonal items is beginning -- for example Maple View Farm is highlighting that fresh frisee endive and head lettuces are back for the first time this year. See you at the Market!

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

To mitigate the risks posed by our continuing health crisis please ensure you do your part to keep our marketplace open and safe:

  • Wear a mask covering both nose and mouth when visiting the Market
  • Physically distance yourself 6' from other shoppers while in the marketplace
  • To help lessen crowding please keep your visit to the Market as short as possible
  • Preorder items -- that is our most efficient way of getting customers in and out quickly
  • Select just one member of your family as the "designated shopper" to send to the Market
  • If arriving as a couple, bring enough reusable bags so that you can split up shopping duties
  • Please do not use the Market as a social or family outing at this time
  • Absolutely avoid the Market if you are sick, especially if you have a temperature of 100° or above, a cough, a sore throat, or shortness of breath. If experiencing these symptoms contact the New York State Department of Health COVID-19 hotline at (888) 364-3065 where Department of Health experts are available to provide guidance.

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "There is a good reason vitamin D is called the "sunshine vitamin". When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it makes vitamin D from cholesterol. The sun's ultraviolet B (UVB) rays hit cholesterol in the skin cells, providing energy for vitamin D synthesis to occur".

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS

Wildcraft Farms will make their first visit to the Market this Saturday. Browse their items in PFM-O tonight. This exciting grain farm grows and mills multiple heirloom varieties of corn for popping, cornmeal, corn flour, and varieties of oats, rye and wheat -- all using regenerative agriculture methods.

Teagevity's tea of the week is Blood Orange & Hibiscus, their zero caffeine, best selling, fruity herbal tea. Pick up a 16oz bottle or one of their 40oz swing tops (which they're happy to refill at the Market). Want to enjoy this tea at home? Buy a 2oz bag to make a huge gallon of Blood Orange & Hibiscus (then garnish it with slices of oranges and a drop of honey or agave!).

Whitecliff Vineyards has their new spring release of Rosé of Gamay Noir this weekend. With its delicate pink hues and floral aroma, it truly is spring in a glass. Gamay Noir is the grape grown in the Beaujolais region of France, and Whitecliff has pioneered its growth here in the Hudson Valley. It is incredibly versatile, used to produce not just red and rosé wines, but white as well. This grape has given them many gold medal winners, and this batch is special.

Simply Planted Greenhouses is in weekly now with beautiful Drop-n-Grows for quick planting in pots or gardens, plenty of hanging baskets, and planters with cool season vegetables and herbs.

Pika's Farm Table is highlighting their version of perhaps the best known French tart in the world (the Quiche Lorraine). Try Pika's take on this classic in her Quiche Alsacienne -- a delicious gruyere and egg custard with onions and salty bacon, in a flaky buttery pie crust.

Wright's Farm is back now with pies, preserves and those really fresh apple cider donuts.

Little Seed Gardens has baby arugula, baby spinach, pea shoots and micro arugula, kale and radish. It's all in PFM-O and at their stand for walk up on Saturday.

Orwasher's Bakery is back! Check out all their items in PFM-O tonight.

Mead Orchards' popular EverCrisp apples will be unavailable for one week, so they're highlighting the opportunity to try other varieties such as Ruby Frost for a sweet apple, or Pink Lady if you want something tarter. Shoppers may notice some of Mead apple prices have changed this week in PFM-O. Mead provided discounted online prices all winter but is now adjusting back so that online and walk up pricing are the same. For the early spring Mead will offer their apples pre-bagged (whether purchased in market or online) as this requires less effort for their staff and protects the apples from bruising.

Spirits Lab is introducing the East End Southside -- available starting this weekend at the Market! Similar to a mojito but so much better. Botanicals from their East End Gin give this cocktail depth, while fresh lime and mint make it bright and refreshing.

Did you know that Edgwick Farm produces an unflavored goat milk yogurt made with just their pasteurized goat milk and live cultures? It's tart and fresh tasting with a velvety texture (as a regular style yogurt, thinner than Greek style). Since its goat, it's very easy to digest and the live cultures bring lots of probiotics that are good for your gut. (Farmers Dan and Talitha eat it for breakfast with Hudson River Apiaries' raw honey, fresh fruit from Mead Orchard or Wright's Farm, and Bread Alone's granola).

Buddhapesto is back in the house! (If you gather some Saturday).

Maple View Farm has prewashed, ready-to-eat fresh spinach, cress, arugula, baby kale, micro cilantro, sunflower shoots, and pea shoots. And frisee endive and head lettuces are back for the first time this year.

This week Bread Alone is discounting their Cinnamon Twist bread to $5.50, and they're offering a two for $3 deal on their chewy chocolate chunk cookies.

Kiernan Farm has a SALE on their Tri Tip steaks this week at $15.00/lb (reg. $21.50/lb) and ground beef (if buying 5 one pound packages,) but their big news is their March Mega Pork Sausage Specials. Choose from two options: Option 1: (Preorders only!) Variety Pack (1 pack of each Hot Italian, Sweet Italian, Breakfast, Chorizo, Andouille and Bratwurst) on SALE at $55.00 (Reg. $74.00) for a savings of $19.00! Option 2: (preorder suggested) buy any three (mix or match) Hot Italian, Sweet Italian, Breakfast at $12.00/lb, get $5.00 off the total.

Little Croc Bakehouse will be in for their April visit this Saturday with items from their dedicated GF kitchen. They visit on the 3rd Saturday of each month, so stock up!

Trotta Foods has Totally Vegan Ravioli for the first time this weekend. Try 40 squares of ravioli for $12.00, completely vegan, with an eggless herb-speckled dough, filled with an assortment if oven-roasted veggies. These would pair great with their Marinara or Puttanesca sauces which are both also vegan.
