Prison Time For Wrong-Way Parkway Driver

He smashed into a car full of visitors from Florida while driving with drugs and alcohol in his system at 3 a.m.

A Manhattan man accused of injuring six people in a head-on crash while driving the wrong way on the Bronx River Parkway in the middle of the night has been sentenced to 1-3 years in prison, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced.

Caceres was driving his 2012 Nissan Murano south in the northbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway at 3 a.m. Feb. 9, 2018. He was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

At the DeWittAvenue Bridge in Yonkers, he collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Durango carrying six passengers who were visiting from Florida. Two of them sustained serious physical injuries, which required hospitalization. He was arraigned in his hospital bed.

Caceres, 37, pleaded guilty in December to Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a class C felony.
