Services are Feb. 7 for Shane Howe

The Pleasantville High School student was 17.

Shane J. Howe, the Pleasantville High School student who died Jan. 31 will be memorialized at a service at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Pleasantville.

The service begins at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. Beecher Flooks Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office told The Journal News the cause of death is pending further study, according to lohud.com.

The high school principal sent a note home to parents about Howe’s death, News12 reported.

According to district officials, Pleasantville High School was open on Sunday for students to gather and reminisce about Shane. Administrators, guidance counselors, and school psychologists also were available that day and will continue to be this week and beyond. Several students put together a video on Sunday that was shown during Tuesday morning’s Daily Panther Student Video Announcements.

The school also observed a moment of silence for Shane. Students are collaborating with Shane’s parents on Saturday’s memorial service.
