Regular School Release Time After Phone Threat: Cops

Here's the latest about the boarding school lockdown in Westchester County.

UPDATE — Lockouts were lifted at schools near the EF Academy, an international boarding school with campuses around the world.


UPDATE 2:40 p.m. — Local schools that have been on lockout while police probe an apparent threat at a boarding school in Mount Pleasant will hold student dismissal at their regular times, police said. However, some have canceled after-school activities, cops said.

Mount Pleasant police officials said their investigation is still pending on the EF Academy campus in Thornwood.

THORNWOOD, NY — Police are investigating a potential threat at the EF Academy.

At 2:01 p.m., Mount Pleasant police reported EF Academy in lockdown mode and local schools in Mount Pleasant, Pleasantville and Thornwood in lock out.

According to News12, a student received what police are calling "a potential threat" on a cellphone.

EF Academy is part of a chain of international boarding schools. Its New York campus is on Columbus Avenue in Thornwood.
