Water Meter Replacement Project Underway
Thee new meters will allow the Town to implement a more efficient reading system, and reduce the reading & operational labor costs.

From the Town of Mt. Pleasant: The Town has started its program to replace the old water meter reading system with new water meters and meter interface units at every property served in all ten water districts within the Town. These new meters will allow the Town to implement a more efficient reading system thereby reducing the reading and operational labor costs of the program. The new meter reading system will also be less intrusive to customers by eliminating the need for a meter reader to access their property.
The Town has contracted National Metering Services, Inc., who will be responsible for the installation of the replacement water meters and meter interface units. The contractor will be sending out notices to each property owner to schedule an installation appointment. All contact and scheduling information will be included in these notices. Please contact the National Metering Services as soon as you receive your notice to schedule an appointment at a time convenient to you.
All installation technicians will have appropriate photo identification and be uniformed with the National Metering Services company logo attire. You may call the Contractor or the Town to confirm that the contractor is working in your neighborhood.

The meter reading system will be upgraded to an AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system. Water system awareness and customer service will improve significantly. Some of the advantages to having an AMI system are that the system will provide daily consumption readings, leak detection, reverse flow tampering, stopped meter notification and low temperature indications. This wealth of information can also be used to avoid billings disputes, initiate proactive maintenance and the continuous information stream allows us to have a much better understanding of when and where water is used in the system.
Thank you for your cooperation as we modernize our meter reading system to better serve you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 914-831-1062 if you have any questions or comments regarding the new meters or any other information discussed in this letter.
