Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Opens Thanksgiving Weekend

FRIDAY - SATURDAY, NOV. 23 – 24

FRIDAY - SUNDAY, NOV. 23 – 25

Kensico Dam Plaza, One Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla - Opening of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Friday, with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree and the opening of FUNderland Village. Thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor, Westchester Medical Center, County Executive George Latimer and Westchester Parks Foundation will welcome a special child to help light the tree, 7-year-old Yorktown Resident Liam Brady, a former patient at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital- a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

6 p.m. - Official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Regular hours – Thursday and Sunday, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. A one-of-a-kind holiday event featuring the Santa Experience, unlimited skating, a circus, great rides, food trucks, gift vendors and more on weekends and select dates through December. MONDAY, NOV. 26

Croton Point Park, Croton Point Avenue, Croton-on-Hudson – (914) 862-5290. Monday Morning Bird Walk – 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. Bring binoculars for a bird walk with the experts from Saw Mill River Audubon. Meet in main parking lot by nature center driveway entrance.
