25-Year-Old Man Accused Of Having Sex With Child

PORT CHESTER, NY — A 25-year-old man was accused of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old after befriending them on messaging apps.

The Port Chester Police Department said, in a Facebook post, that over the last few months, the man chatted with the teen over Messenger and then Snapchat.

Police said, over the course of time, the man met with the child and they had sex.

The victim came forward and the man was arrested.

Port Chester police did not release the name or the place of residence of the man who was arrested.

He was charged with four counts of criminal sexual act with a child less than 15, felonies, and sent to the Westchester County Jail.

Authorities said they wanted to remind parents to talk with their children about using on-line chat platforms.

"The person your child is chatting with may not be who they really are and may be an on-line predator," police said.
