Caritas Port Chester Offers Meal Delivery, Food Pantry

The organization offers meals through the Salvation Army and a food pantry at the Carver Center.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Caritas Port Chester has been providing food to people in need during the new coronavirus crisis. It has built a network of agencies and organizations that are working together to prepare meals, distribute and deliver food and provide help.

Caritas is serving as the food collection site. The organization is in need of pasta, cereal, canned vegetables (with the exception of corn) and diapers size 3 to 5.

Food donations can be made at 509 N. Main Street in Port Chester. Financials donations can be make on the organization's website.

The Carver Center is serving as a food pantry and is open at 400 Westchester Ave. in Port Chester from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Salvation Army delivers meals Monday through Wednesday mornings. Sign up for delivery at 914-294-4440.

Caritas delivers to other organizations as well, like Cerebral Palsy of Westchester and other pantries. But its main purpose is to obtain and coordinate distribution of food — groceries and meals — to the other two organizations for pickup or delivery.
