'Coffee with a Cop' - Evening Edition

Chief Conway invites Port Chester residents to have a cup of coffee with him - he'll have decaf

Chief Richard Conway and the Port Chester Police Department will hold its second Coffee with a Cop at the Port Chester Senior Community Center, 222 Grace Church Street on Wednesday, September 20 at 6pm.

Coffee with a Cop was launched in Hawthorne, California, in 2011 by members of the Hawthorne Police Department. They were looking for ways to interact more successfully with the citizens they served each day. Since its inception Coffee with a Cop events have been hosted in all 50 states and involved over 600 law enforcement agencies. It is considered one of the most successful community oriented policing programs in the nation, and has expanded outside the United States to Canada, Europe, Australia, and Africa. The key to Coffee with a Cop's growing success is that it opens the door for interactions outside of the crisis situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and community members together.

Stay tuned for additional sessions. This time, the coffee will be decaffeinated!
