As live entertainment slowly returns to the Hudson Valley, social distancing, mask wearing and common sense remain on the program.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Pandemic-related restrictions continue to be eased across the region, allowing small audiences to once again attend films, stage performances, exhibits and concerts.

Here are just a few of the best reasons to venture out of the house to enjoy a show. Safety remains the top priority, so we also added a few virtual ways to enjoy a night out without leaving home.

DINING: Kentucky Derby Dinner - Sip mint juleps and enjoy sophisticated, southern inspired fare as part of the David Burke Supper Club. Live Jazz and, of course, a live streamed horse race. LIVE OUTDOOR MUSIC: Under the Marquee Party - The Capitol Theatre is not hosting big name concerts just yet, but they are ready to throw an outdoor party under their iconic marquee. Live music and shopping for t-shirts, masks, hats, posters and other merch are on the lineup. Garcia's bar will be open (hurray!). Face masks and social distancing will be strictly followed. SPRING FAMILY FUN: Peekskill Cherry Blossom Festival - Guided tours, food vendors, children's activities and plant sales. Masks are required, and social distancing markers will direct traffic flow and keep visitors safe. Admission is free, but visitors are asked to donate a gently used children’s book. May 1, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cherry blossom festival at Riverfront Green Park is presented by the Peekskill Rotary Club.

IN-PERSON/VIRTUAL CONCERT: Milton - Live music once again returns to the Tarrytown Music Hall with a sold out concert by singer songwriter Milton. A limited number of seats were made available at the venue for socially distanced attendees, but the performance will also be live streamed. Admission and live stream tickets are free, but donations are requested for the fundraiser event on May 1, at 8 p.m. Tarrytown Music Hall 914-631-3390
