Forever Families Through Adoption Recognized by HRC

July 3, 2019 Forever Families Through Adoption (FFTA), an adoption placement agency and resource center in Rye Brook, N.Y. proudly announces that it has been recognized as having achieved “Solid Foundation for Inclusion” by the Human Rights Campaign’s All Children All Families (ACAF) Project Celebrating Everyday Change – Makers in Child Welfare. This affirms that FFTA continues to be committed to welcoming, affirming and being supportive of LGBTQ families.

The agency’s executive director, Joy S. Goldstein, LCSW, ACSW stated that this recognition means “we are not only supporting the LGBTQ community, but are standing up for ethical practice by removing barriers to LGBTQ adults who dream of becoming parents and to children in need of a safe, permanent and loving family.”

Forever Families welcomes all families regardless of race, religion, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, age, nationality or disability. FFTA is proud to champion policies and practices which protect against anti LGBTQ discrimination. They hope to lead by example and welcome other agencies to join them in these efforts.

Since 2007, hundreds of child welfare agencies across the U.S. have used the ACAF’s resources to enhance their efforts to achieve safety, permanency and well-being for LGBTQ youth and families. This new effort marks a major step toward improving the services provided to LGBTQ youth and prospective parents.
