Former Fire Treasurer Expelled; Missing Money Probe Continues

The FBI's investigation into the Port Chester fire company missing funds has not been concluded.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A former Port Chester fire company treasurer was expelled at the company's September meeting. A letter notifying the village board of the decision to expel Robert Gerardi gave no reason for the expulsion.

Former treasurer Gerardi has been on leave since July 2017, the Journal News said, which is when the fire company started looking into an estimated $40,000 allegedly stolen from its accounts.

The FBI has interviewed staff of both the village and fire department, and the investigation is ongoing.
