Jury Finds Port Chester Man Guilty Of Sex Abuse

The jury deliberated for five days, authorities said.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A Port Chester man was found guilty by a jury of sexually abusing a child. Westchester County Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Friday that Hugo Zuniga, 37, of Port Chester was found guilty of first-degree sex abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The jury deliberated over a five-day period, Scarpino said.

Authorities said Zuniga sexually abused a 14-year-old in August 2018.

He was arrested by Port Chester police Nov. 8.

Zuniga is in custody awaiting sentencing scheduled for Dec. 10. He faces a maximum of seven years in state prison and will have to register as a sex offender.
