Port Chester Man Sentenced For Child Abuse
Police said he was working as an interior house painter when the sexual assault took place.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A Port Chester man was sentenced to eight years in state prison for the sexual assault of a child in North Castle in June. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Fabio Coutinho, 42, of Port Chester, had pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, Jan. 24.
In addition to the prison term, he was sentenced to 15 years' post-release supervision.
Upon release, Coutinho will have to register as a sex offender. A hearing will be conducted to determine what sex offender level will be designated.

Scarpino said that, on June 6, Coutinho was working as an interior house painter in a private North Castle residence. While in the home, he engaged in sexual conduct with the 5-year-old victim, who immediately told her parents what took place.
North Castle police responded and investigated.

Through DNA testing of both the victim and Coutinho, investigators corroborated the child's account.
North Castle police arrested him Aug. 21.
