Port Chester Resident Qualifies for Super SteelFit Final at Jersey Shore
Fitness competition to take place on the beach in Point Pleasant
Lindsey Rainwater of Port Chester qualified for the Finals of the Super SteelFit Championships, which will be this Saturday, June 20 in Point Pleasant, NJ. In its third year, Super SteelFit is a series of intense individual functional fitness qualifying competitions leading up to the Finals on the Jersey Shore.
Athletes from all over New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania competed in the four Qualifiers across New Jersey (Westfield, West Orange, Teaneck, and Atlantic City). Participants completed four different workouts, which included box jumps, deadlifts, burpees, running, and a front squat ladder, that tested various aspects of fitness.
For the Finals, over 150 athletes, the top performers from the Qualifiers, will compete on the beach at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk on Saturday, June 20th for a prize purse of over $9,000. All competitors will participate in four workouts on the beach designed to find the fittest of the fit. The workouts involve pull-ups, push-ups, bench press, kettlebell swings, and more. SportsNet New York (SNY) will be on-site capturing all the action for the Super SteelFit TV broadcast that will air in August.
