Port Chester Restaurant Reopens After Viral Illness Finding

Four customers and one employee were found to be infected with hepatitis A.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A Port Chester restaurant that had been closed because an employee tested positive for hepatitis A was allowed to reopen Thursday. Four customers and one employee of bartaco contracted the disease.

County health officials screened and vaccinated all employees and inspected the establishment, the Journal News said.

The Westchester County Department of Health said Wednesday that individuals who ate or drank at bartaco between Oct. 12 and Oct. 23 should receive preventive treatment against hepatitis A.

The health department is offering preventive treatment Thursday, Oct. 26 from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27 from noon to 4:45 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
