Port Chester Schools Final Public Budget Hearing Thursday

Voters will have their say on the district's planned $116,509,250 spending package for 2021-2022 May 18, when the budget is on the ballot.

PORT CHESTER, NY — The final public hearing on the proposed 2021-22 budget for the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District will be held on May 6, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will detail the spending plan for the upcoming school year. The proposed budget is $116,509,250, with a 6.49 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package.

School officials said the tax levy will increase by 2.04 percent if the budget is approved by voters later this month.

There are a total of two school trustee seats up for election. The candidates on the ballot will be:

  • Luigi Russo (incumbent)
  • Sharon Burke
  • Richard Cirulli
  • George Ford
  • David Matthews

The annual budget vote and board election will be from 7am - 9pm on May 18 in the Port Chester Middle School Gymnasium.
