Port Chester Settles With Laid Off Paid Firefighters

The village took the budget cutting move to eliminate paid firefighters in May 2016.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A settlement has been reached between the Port Chester board of trustees and eight professional firefighters who were laid off in 2016. The village agreed to pay the firefighters a total of $295,000 and the firefighters in turn will withdraw their outstanding labor complaints.

Both sides signed documents finalizing the agreement after the board passed a resolution April 2, lohud.com said.
