Why start a business in this town?

Port Chester has always had strong maritime history. Even today folks come from as far as NYC to enjoy the fresh waters of Port Chester and Greenwich for fishing and summer yachting.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

BG Marine Services believes in quality over quantity. Some new boaters seem to think that going cheaper with a seasonal inexperienced and unlicensed worker will be the best but unfortunately every summer there are fires, dead batteries and boats that end up sinking because of this.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

We believe in professionalism and being reliable and because of that word of mouth has placed us on different parts of the world and dealing with celebrities and CEOs of fortune 500 companies.

How does your business give back to the community?

Keeping our waters and shores clean is extremely important to us. We participate in local water spring clean ups with local underprivileged kids to show them how important it is not to pollute so many other generations can continue to enjoy Port Chester's waterway.
