Port Chester's Beautify It! Essay Contest Open For Submissions

PORT CHESTER, NY — Do you have an idea about how to beautify an area of Port Chester? Now is your chance to shine. The Village of Port Chester's Beautification Commission is holding its annual Beautify It! essay contest, which is open to all young people in Port Chester

Entrants must be under 18 and submit a one-page essay describing how he or she would like to beautify an area of the village, explaining why the area needs improvement, what changes should be made and how the improvement will benefit the village community overall.

Essays must be submitted before May 17 to Beautification@portchesterny.com or delivered to the village clerk at 222 Grace Church St., Port Chester, NY 10573.

Entrants must include their name and contact information for notification about winners.

First, second and third place winners will be selected in early June and presented with certificates before the mayor and village board.

All participants will be invited to attend.

The Beautification Commission will work with the community to implement the proposal of the first-place winner of the contest.

Press releases will be sent announcing the winners and participating groups.
