Route 1 Road Closures Expected

Construction activities will be taking place, weather permitting.

PORT CHESTER, NY — The state Department of Transportation said motorists should be aware that that a road closure is expected on Route 1 (Boston Post Road) northbound and southbound, between Slater Street and Grace Church Street, nightly from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 15 while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour and plan accordingly.

The DOT said drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, the DOT said. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
