Suspect in Port Chester Shooting Nabbed After Manhunt

Rye, Port Chester, Stamford and Westchester County police were involved in the hunt for a man accused of shooting his friend in the chest.

PORT CHESTER, NY — After receiving multiple 911 emergency calls about gunshots near Fox Island Road in Port Chester, police found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was conscious and able to describe the person who shot him, kicking off a multi-state manhunt.

The victim told police that he was an acquaintance of the 28-year-old man responsible for the shooting. After searching the area with the help of K9 units and Westchester County Police helicopters, authorities cast a wider net.

Police believe the suspect involved in Thursday night’s violence fled the crime scene on foot, but a Port Chester-wide search didn’t turn up any sign of the fugitive. Port Chester authorities also involved police from Rye, Westchester County and Stamford Connecticut.
