FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Pediatric Trauma Kit will help children thrive, prosper and grow

Kiwanis Club of Port Chester/Rye Brook provides funding for Rye Brook Fire Department

Rye Brook, NY (October 31, 2017) — The Fire Department will be better able to treat children thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Port Chester/Rye Brook’s donation of a Pediatric Trauma Kit.

Active in Port Chester/Rye Brook for 54 years, the club recently raised $1,000.00 to fund the kit. The kit contains child-size items that allow for a better fit and use when treating children.

“Kids need Kiwanis, now more than ever before, and providing a Pediatric Trauma Kit is an example of how our club can meet a need in our community,” said Laura Prange, club president. “We are always looking for opportunities to help our youth and the community overall. We welcome new ideas to make a difference in the community.”

The club worked with the fire department and the Village Board so the first responders could accept the donation. “The Board of Trustees is please to accept this donation as an additional lifesaving tool for the first responders.”

Laura said the Kiwanis Club of PC/RB supports several local projects to benefit children, including high school scholarships, an annual youth breakfast, Little League and sponsorships to Kamp Kiwanis.

Annually, the Kiwanis Club of PC/RB hosts three fundraisers including the annual youth breakfast and an annual picnic in August, all to raise money to support projects that benefit children.

The Kiwanis Club of PC/RB, welcomes new members who want to serve their community. Information about becoming a member is available by calling Laura at 914 473 2444 or by joining the meetings on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at Pasquale Ristorante 2 Putnam Ave., Port Chester.
