Tuckahoe Public Library to Renovate with Energy Efficient Windows
Senator Mayer and Assemblymember Paulin announce state grant to help fund Tuckhaoe Public Library improvements

State Senator Shelley Mayer and Assemblymember Amy Paulin announced that the Tuckahoe Public Library was awarded a nearly $22,000 state grant from the 2017-18 State Aid for Library Construction Program.
The funding will be used to replace the windows at the Tuckahoe Public Library with energy efficient windows. The library is currently receiving quotes for the project from different vendors. The work is expected to begin in a few months.
“I am pleased that the Tuckahoe Public Library was awarded this grant for capital improvements,” said State Senator Shelley Mayer. (D-Westchester). “It’s encouraging to see the Tuckahoe Public Library leading the way on energy efficient improvements which save taxpayer dollars and are environmentally conscious. I am a strong supporter of all of our public libraries, and pledge to continue to work hard for additional state funding and other resources to support our libraries.”

I have always been an advocate for state investment in our local libraries, and grateful for the mission-driven services they provide each and every day.”

The replacement of the 39-year-old windows will help us be more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and economical in the long term. This construction grant is from $24 million in capital funds for public library construction and broadband infrastructure projects provided in the 2017-2018 State Budget.
