Wrong-Way Driver Hits Woman Getting Out Of Taxi: PD
The driver was found to not have a license, police said.
PORT CHESTER, NY — An impatient driver seriously injured a woman Tuesday getting out of a taxi on Neuton Avenue in Port Chester. Nelson Velasquez-Flores, 41, of Greenwich, Connecticut, was charged with felony reckless endangerment and traffic violations.
Police said Velasquez-Flores, impatient about stalled traffic, crossed the road's double yellow line and drove in the wrong direction when he struck the 49-year-old Port Chester woman, the Daily Voice reported.
Velasquez-Flores stayed at the scene, but was found to be driving without a license, according to authorities.
