2 Men Shot, Seriously Injured Outside Of Port Jefferson Bar: PD
The 20-and 22-year-old were shot at about 2 a.m., and were transported to a local hospital in serious condition, police said.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Suffolk police are investigating a double shooting that took place on the street outside of Tommy’s Place in Port Jefferson early Saturday morning — the second incidence of violence in the area over days and the second incidence of gun violence in a matter of months.
Two men, a 20-and 22-year-old, man were shot outside of the bar, which is located at 109 Main St., at about 2 a.m., and were transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
Before the shooting, the two men were in Port Jefferson Village and that there “was a dispute, and afterward, the suspects fled in a vehicle, police said. The names of the men were not released.

Suffolk’s Public Information Bureau would not say if investigators believe the shooting is drug or gang-related. But a spokeswoman said investigators do not believe the shooting is related to the fatal stabbing on Greenway Trail on Thursday morning.

A man was found stabbed to death along the Greenway Trail, which runs between Port Jefferson Station and Setauket. He was identified as Benjamin Flores-Mendez, 39, of Port Jefferson Station. No arrests have been made.
A police spokeswoman said the 6th Precinct has increased both car and bicycle patrols on and around the Greenway Trail, and the department itself is looking into installing cameras on the trails. Patrols have also been increased in the area of the shooting, police said.
Saturday’s double shooting is the second shooting in recent months. A man was shot dead on West Main Street in broad daylight back in March. Joseph Garcia, 19, of Port Jefferson Station, was later charged with the murder of 25-year-old David Bliss of Shirley in that case.
