45 Student-Musicians From Port Jefferson Make SCMEA All-County
Congratulations to all the students from the school district who qualified!
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — Port Jefferson has a musically-inclined bunch, as 45 student-musicians from the district were recognized by the Suffolk County Music Educators' Association as All-County players, according to a news release.
"Congratulations to all of our outstanding student musicians, who were also given access to virtual musical workshop experiences, including professional musicians who shared instrument-specific knowledge and career experiences," said Dr. Michael Caravello, director of music and fine arts, via news release.
Port Jefferson Middle School sixth and seventh graders selected for Division 1 are: Allie Blumenthal, Jonah Boerboom, Rowan Casey, Vincent Chen, Avery Eisaman, Julie Friedman, Mari Fukuto, Nicholas Hogan, Kevin Hong, Joshua Kwon, Sadie LaPresti, Inarra McMaster, Lily Mahony, Thea Mangels, Eve McCabe, Iris Park, Catherine Poten, Marco Puopolo, Crystal Reustle, Sadie Salzman, Sadie Tafuro, Madison Testa and Blake Weaver.

In Division II, eighth and ninth graders Thales Chang, Isabelle Chen, Iris He, Rose Meliker-Hammock, Evan Monaghan, Gavin Onghai, Katherine Ranjbar, Maya Shand and Nicholas Smirnov were selected.
Earl L. Vandermeulen High School students in grades 10 through 12 selected for Divisions III
and IV are Alexa Ayotte, Luke Dickhuth, Kenneth Dixon-Lanza, Justin Garcia, Marina Kelley-
Renda, David Lawler, Mattea Rabeno, Ruby Ray, Jack Reilly, Olivia Schlegel, Hannah Skula,
Valentina Velazquez and Peggy Yin.
