About the only perks Port Jefferson Village residents have left besides parking are access to our resident only beaches. Having read a post in the Village Facebook raises a question to me. The unknown author states that it is OK to drop non residents at East Beach to take advantage of the new snack bar. Non residents should not have access to our beaches, just by walking in or being dropped off. I would bet there would be bus loads parking in the Country Club lot and a stream of out of towners invading our beaches. Who allowed this statement to be printed on the Village Facebook? This issue was raised years ago when some short term thinker thought Country Club membership for non residents should include beach access. Watch out for resident privalege give a ways. Our Village taxes pay for the beach staffs and maintenance.
