Cultural Happenings at the Port Jefferson Free Library
The Arts live on Long Island! Let the Port Jefferson Free Library help you find them!

For over 200 years Long Island has been a place that has been both a haven and a site of inspiration for artists.
That tradition carries through to today. The arts continue to thrive on Long Island in museums (both small and local to well known institutions) as well as in galleries and studios. Are you looking to explore the LI Art Scene? Look no farther than the Port Jefferson Free Library’s own “Cultural Happenings” display. As patrons enter the Library the display can be found just past the double sliding doors that lead into the main library. There is a sign marking the location.
On the display shelves you will find brochures highlighting local art shows, programming from and at local museums, theater performances, film festivals, music, and other cultural offerings and attractions.

Looking to find some art? As always the museum passes are available for checkout or visit a local gallery on your own! We have brochures from the Heckscher Museum in Huntington, The Staller Center which includes the University Art Gallery, the Long Island Museum at Stony Brook, and The Guild Hall in East Hampton. There are plenty of spots where art can be found! Make a day of it and explore the museum and the town in which it is located.
