Enrichment through Lego Building at Edna Louise
Students learn real world application of machines.

For the second year in a row, fourth and fifth-graders at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School participated in an enrichment Lego program.
On Jan. 29 and 30, the Port Jefferson students, under the direction of S.E.A.L teacher Janelle Bellotti, spent time learning about simple machines and their real world applications and using that knowledge to build a pull-back car, which was then tested using various engineering theories.
Through the program, students also honed in on their communication, teamwork and visual interpretation skills.
