Evelyn Knapp 5K "Run to Remember' and 3K Wellness Walk

Join us as we celebrate our 7th Annual Evelyn Knapp "Run to Remember".

Join us as we celebrate our 7th Annual Evelyn Knapp "Run to Remember". Evelyn loved this tough cross country course spanning the hills of Sunken Meadow State Park, known to all High School Cross Country teams - cardiac hill, snake and others.

There is something 'active' for the whole family - a Kids Fun Run, 3K Welllness Walk on the Boardwalk and the challenging 5K Cross Country Course. Come share the experience with your family and know that you are helping Strength for Life continue to offer FREE exercise classes and wellness retreats to cancer patients/survivors throughout Nassau and Suffolk. You will also be supporting our new pediatric cancer exercise class!

To date Strength for Life has assisted over 1700 cancer patients/survivors with our classes and retreats - all with your help. Thank you!

Classes are currently held at Mather Hospital, Stony Brook University Cancer Center, Brookhaven Hospital, Southampton Hospital Hampton Bays Wellness Center, NSHOA in Setauket, Wantagh World Gym, Monter Cancer Center, STARS Rehabilitation East Meadow, L.I. Cancer Help and Wellness Center Bay Shore. We continue to reach out and organize classes to make it as accessible for everyone to take advantage of our free programs.

This run is one of the ways we can afford these services...and our favorite as it bears the name of our friend and mentor Evelyn Knapp who succumbed to breast cancer at the age of 40 years n 2005. Please consider joining us by walking, running, bring the kids or donating and share the programs with your friends, neighbors and family.
