Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island
Damaging winds and flooding are possible. See the latest forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island with thunderstorms on the way Wednesday.
Any storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and areas of flooding.
"The strongest storms can produce localized flooding downpours, strong wind gusts, hail and frequent lightning strikes," AccuWeather Meteorologist Clay Chaney says.

The highest of thunderstorms on the island will be from about 7 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday, the NWS says.

Tuesday Night- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 6 to 8 mph.
Wednesday- A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind 6 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night- Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
Thursday Night- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 9 mph.
Friday- Sunny, with a high near 85.
Friday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 82.
