Independence Day Parade Planned For July 5 In Port Jefferson

The parade will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Main Street.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — The Port Jefferson Fire Department is hosting its annual Independence Day parade on Monday, July 5, on Main Street in Port Jefferson.

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m.

Main Street will most likely be closed starting at 8 a.m., in preparation for the parade, and the festivities will conclude at noon in front of the reviewing stand across from Village Hall, according to Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce Director of Operations Barbara Ransome.

Ransome recently told Greater Port Jeff that the parade draws a large contingent of local fire departments, as well as civic groups.

The chamber’s contingent itself will include a Hook & Ladder vintage fire truck, as well as the Wholly Brass Band, according to an email to newsletter members.
