Kitten Rescued From Long Island Storm Drain

TERRYVILLE, NY – Suffolk County Police officers rescued a kitten that fell into a storm drain in Friday evening.

Sixth Precinct officers responded to Claymer Street in Terryville at about 6 p.m. and officers notified the Emergency Service Section, police said.

Local volunteer firefighters and EMTs with the Terryville Fire Department also responded to lend a hand.

Emergency Service Section Officer Michael Viruet climbed into the drain and rescued the kitten.

The kitten was adopted by a local resident once removed from the drain.
