Long Island's Week-Ahead Weather Forecast Includes Sunshine, Thunderstorms

It won't be too hot or too cold. All you will need is a light jacket. And maybe an umbrella.

Long Island weather is actually going to feel like spring for the next few days with the probability of some April showers and thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 64. Wednesday will heat up to a high near 68 with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. On Thursday, the skies will clear and temperatures will get close to 60 degrees once again.

  • Tuesday day— Sunny, with a high near 64.
  • Tuesday night— Partly cloudy, with a low around 53.
  • Wednesday day— A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68.
  • Wednesday night— Mostly clear, with a low around 44.
  • Thursday day— Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Thursday night— Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.
